Defender
Born in Sondika (Vizcaya) on 7 July 2000, Álvaro Núñez started playing for his local club, just outside of Bilbao, and was soon spotted by Athletic Club, where he progressed through the youth ranks as high as the reserves, also having a spell at CD Basconia.
He was a first choice player across two seasons, first in the old Division 2B and then in the newly created Primera RFEF.
Technical profile
Núñez is an attack-minded full-back, but never neglects his defensive duties. He loves moving up to support the forwards and is an especially good crosser of the ball. He is also very strong at the back and a tight man-marker.
