Forward
Born in Montevideo on 19 July 2003, Ubal joined Barça in the summer of 2019 at the age of 16, arriving as a highly promising prospect. At the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, he continued his development with the junior team while also competing in the Liga EBA with Barça Atlètic.
Following the pandemic, he took part in the first team's pre-season training camp in Encamp in the summer of 2021. His hard work was rewarded with his official debut in the fifth round of the ACB season, away to Coosur Real Betis. Under Sarunas Jasikevicius, he went on to make three further Liga Endesa appearances and one EuroLeague outing, away to ASVEL.
In March of the 2021/22 season, he joined Río Breogán on loan to gain more playing time and experience at the highest level. His development continued with subsequent loan spells at Bilbao Basket (2022/23) and Palencia (2023/24). After leaving Barça, he spent the 2024/25 season at Granada before playing for Manresa in 2025/26.
For the 2026/27 season, Ubal returns home having built up experience with five different clubs and made a total of 129 Liga Endesa appearances. He has also gained international experience with the Uruguay senior national team, making his debut at just 17 years of age with 20 points in a victory over Paraguay.
Versatility is Ubal's defining characteristic. A highly adaptable perimeter player, he is capable of playing at point guard, shooting guard or small forward. He brings character and energy to the team, attacking the basket with aggression while also making a strong impact through his defensive intensity.
