Born in Manassas, Virginia, on 12 October 1997, Robinson came through Montrose Christian School and Saint James School in Maryland, Robinson completed his college career in the NCAA between 2015 and 2019. He played four seasons and a total of 125 games for the Virginia Tech Hokies, averaging 11.5 points and 4.4 assists per game.
Between 2019 and 2022, he combined NBA Summer League and G League appearances with opportunities in the NBA itself, playing 68 games across five different franchises: the Washington Wizards, Oklahoma City Thunder, Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons.
In 2022, Robinson decided to continue his career overseas, joining the Illawarra Hawks in Australia's NBL. However, he suffered a serious injury at the start of his first season, preventing him from making his debut until the following campaign, 2023/24, when he appeared in 33 games, averaging 12 points and 4.4 assists.
He finished that season by travelling to the other side of the world to join Breogán in March, making his first foray into European basketball. Following his spell in the Liga Endesa, Robinson moved to Italy to join Trapani Shark. There he confirmed his quality, averaging 14.4 points, three rebounds, six assists and an efficiency rating of 18 per game. He was named the league's MVP for November and finished the season in the competition's All-League First Team.
His excellent performances in Italy earned him a move to a EuroLeague club. With Paris Basketball, Robinson made his debut in Europe's premier club competition, averaging 14.6 points, 4.5 assists and a runners-up spot in the French league.
